RDC

RDC (Rules Design Component) offers an effective solution to determine and manage calculation and decision rules for information systems of insurance companies and pension funds. The calculation rules, needed to determine pensions, provision, profit sharing and commission, as well as the decision rules needed for instance to determine acceptance, can be managed and executed in RDC. RDC has been developed as a component, based on the IBSEN concept of Practis.

Single Point Of Definition (SPoD)

RDC can also be integrated as a component with existing or newly to be developed information systems. These information systems can execute the desired rules by sending a service request to RDC, thereby using the centrally stored knowledge in RDC.

Power to the Expert

Business experts like an actuarial or pension experts define and manage calculation and decision rules in RDC, giving them a direct influence on these rules and their application in operational information systems. In this manner, modifications as a result of legislation or policy changes, can effectively be realised without programming.

RDC:

  • follows way of working and thinking of the actuarial expert
  • manages calculation rules of various types used by multiple applications in one location
  • reduces software maintenance; no need to integrate calculation rules within the programming code
  • increases flexibility, shortens Time-to-Market
  • offers, combined with the software component AKS ( Actuarial Knowledge System) of Practis, a complete solution for all calculations of insurance companies and pension funds.
